NOISERV

David Santos is the name behind “NOISERV”. Noiserv is a project that appeared in 2005 when David Santos decided to join all the material that he had achieved for a long time and turned it into something real and serious. On July, 2005, Noiserv was invited to join the Portuguese netlabel Merzbau and edit his first EP, “56010-92”. After that David had played in Portugal’s most important alternative scene venues and quickly had become well-known in Portuguese media and audience. Had played with several well-known international artists such as I Like Trains, Tara Jane O’neil, Yndi Halda, Your Ten Mofo, Julianna Barwick, Don’t Mess with Texas, Half Sleep, The Swell, Damon & Naomi, etc…

On live performances David uses a lot of instruments, such as metallophone, melodica, bells, several synths, omnichord, megaphone, guitars, vocals, toys and music boxes all combined with the “well-Known” loopstation, taking the concert into a completely new experience.

At the moment David is trying to promote his record the most as he can….

Bernhard Eder

[Musikexpress]

Freitag, 3. Juli: LIVE Aaron Hull (AUS) & Stefan Kushima (AUT)

Filed under: Programm-Archiv — simon at 12:41 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2009

Aaron Hull

Aaron Hull is a Sydney sound and video artist and Curator of the performance series 1/4_inch (www.1-4inch.com).

Taking inspiration from film sound tracks, noise, the Australian landscape and malfunctioning audio equipment, Aaron’s performances vary from an intimate sonic landscape to an all out assault of noise and shattered glitch.

Stefan Kushima

Stefan Kushima is a young artist from Austria who creates minimal wavering drone music with a unique warm, natural, and hand-made touch. Using concrete sound sources – repetitive guitar figures, violin patterns, vocal cries, or other self-built instruments – Kushima spins a web of spiralling patterns and melancholic harmonies until his one-man-ballad is abstracted into a blissful wall of fuzzed-out metallic glow. Kushima’s psychedelic tones penetrate the psyche like hypnotic transmissions originating from deep in space or beneath the sea, pulling the listener towards the menacing source, only to be pushed away again into a calm haze.
Kushima has released a prolific stream of CDs and Cassettes on many underground labels and is also an accomplished and highly original graphic artist and experimental filmmaker (presenting at film festivals across Europe).
